History
Kenneth Shapley was born in 1964 in Wales, his parents are Scottish and he was brought up in England. He undertook professional training at Emerson College in their three month residential course, The Craft of The Storyteller 2003 and in 2004 he received a Millennium Award through Community Foundations Scotland to offer storytelling in schools, lecture halls, community centres and museums. He has performed since then in England, France, Canada and Japan including residential placements.
Ken has been playing Didgeridoo for 25 years and it has been his creativity sparking friend for all those years. He currently has five CD's of relaxation music as well as several collaborative projects on the go right now.
His first photographic exhibition The Half Seen World was at The Scottish Storytelling Centre showing his mirror image photography which reveals spirits of nature. "Kenneth Shapley reveals a whole new world hidden right before our eyes," said The Evening News in a two page double feature.
For the next few years Kenneth Shapley spent time capturing the light of the world way down at the micro level and alchemically blending the elements into beautiful designs for scarfs, shawls and other clothing.
